oil pressure?

does anyone know wot the oil pressure should be at the vtec solenoid? I'm having problems with vtec where it's not engaging properly, it feels like it's only half coming in and it's loosing power top end. I'm getting a maximum oil pressure of 5 bar at the filter and only 2.5 bar at the vtec solenoid when vtec kicks in, is this normal?
 
I think you have something else wrong!

Maybe you should check your plug & wire or even your ignition coil!
If everything is good there check fuel and timing.

Oh yeah! Vtec is only on or off not halfway FYI.

i know vtec is only meant to be on or of but it feels almost like the oil pressure used to lock the pins is insuficient and is causing vtec to engage and disengage randomly.
tested my mates integra type-r oil pressure at the solenoid and it was getting over 5bar where as mine is only getiing 2.5bar at vtec engagement (over 5 at the oil filter at the same time) and i've read it needs a minimum of 57psi (approx 3.9bar) to engage vtec.


where does the solenoid get it's oil from so i can check for blockages? i've checked the solenoid filter and it's clean i just can't figure out where the 2.5bar drop is happening. Any help appreciated
