Older generation of civics explained!?

I have a 23L Special Edition (EF1). Very base model of all EF's, plus its imported. Lightest out of them all because of no sunroof, windy windows, lack of sound-deadening, etc.

Dunno if you can find one though. I got mine out of pure luck :p

If you do plan on getting an EF, get the SiR because engine swaps with these cars are a pain in the hole!

^^^ Plus it weighs 850kg from factory ^^^ Then I stripped it to bare metal, so a bit less than that ;)

That's what I'm in the hunt for but there not many for sale that I can see after many hrs searching, there seems to be a fair amount of of ee9s for sale but need a lot of work and I don't no how hard would it be then to source ef9 parts? Ee9 are sir aswell but European model instead of ef9?

EE9 are 16i-VT models. EF9 is SiR. Essentially the same car, but the EE9 lacks all the good bits, like spoiler, bronze glass, etc. Plus the JDM engine is supposedly better than the UKDM one.

Sourcing bits isn't hard when you know people. I managed to get all my SiR bits within the year. Just have to be patient. All worth it in the end :)

There's actually a freshly imported EF9 for sale on the 4GUK forum. Go join that and there shouldn't be any problem finding an EF :nice:

If you wanna spend money then get a proper siR, will never go down in value but increase its value, amazing beautiful cars

I have both :))

Ef9 siR
Ef8 crx siR

IMO considering what you'll have to pay for a decent EF9 these days, the EK9 has to be considered an alternative option...I recently had this dilemma. My thoughts -

The EK9 has a much more developed chassis than the EF9. CRXs/EF9s have a certain something about them that make them feel great to drive (weight probably a big factor).....but drive one on a track back to back with an EK9 and you will feel the development and tightness in the EK9 chassis. Steering feel and directness of the EK9 is also on a different league, EF feels almost sloppy in comparison. I've driven both quite extensively and very nearly bought Tahirs SIR......it won the coolness factor but as an overall package and bang for the bucks considered, I had to go EK9 :).

I already have a ek9 this last 4 years which I have restored and modified, it now sits pretty in my garage so I think it needs company :D I'm for keeping the ek9 but would like a older gen Civic now for a project or even buy one that's been done already..

EF9, SiR 2 8)

:worthless: :D
