Hello..

I was just after some of your views and opinions on plastidip?
It's a fairly new things and i was thinking of experimenting with it, but i wanted to know what you thought?
so fire away let me know your thoughts and opinions on plastidip..

I was thinking a matte white? or maybe matte black or matte gunmetal?
search

I know that's not a Honda but it was just to show you what sort of matte white i was looking at?

Thanks :)

Mate, whatever makes your happy is what is important :)

If you want it then go for it!

Don,t do it mate, friend had his impreza done and it ruined all the paint underneath where it hadn,t been done properly. I,d personally go for a vinyl wrap

Did your mate use the original plastidip stuff from the original website? Because there's a loads of fake stuff out there people are trying to sell on as the original stuff..? But if that's the case maybe vinyl wrap is the way to go..

Is the above picture the company removing it ? Or your mate? Apparently the company's have something they spray over the plasti coat and it removes without effecting the paint, my mates a painter and contemplating doing this now and that's what he told me, I've considered it also aswell tbh.

If you've got a regular civic then experiment but don't do it to an EK9.
I personally wouldn't even contemplate plastidip from what I've seen.
You can't beat a top paint job!

Same here, would be a real shame.

Plastidip is good for a set of wheels but not a whole car, plastidipped cars look unfinished and ghetto imo. I'd rather use a wrap if I wanted the matte look, way better result.

That's very true! The plastidip is cheaper and looks like a lot more fun.. I don't think I could do a good enough paint job myself.. I wouldn't even know how to learn.. Xx

I think I might give it a go.. It's cheap enough to attempt and peel it off if I don't like it.. Not only that the paintwork on the car at the moment isn't the best so I wouldn't be too bothered if it ruined it.
I'll just keep some money aside for a full respray just in case it goes wrong haha!

I'll let you know if it goes well or not! I've just ordered the paint! X :) (Y)

Great for badges, I've done a couple of cars in the past. Wouldn't do a while car with it though

Garbage!!

At work it's what we call 20/20

It looks fantastic from 20 foot away at 20mph:D

Plastidip= poor mans vinyl wrap
Vinyl wrap = poor mans paint job

****... Well i've bought it so maybe i'll just do the rims and the grill for now? see what happens? I just liked the idea of being able to change to colour of my car say every 6 months? and being able to spray the car myself i suppose?

im not great at vinyl wrapping..? xxx
