I have a passenger footwell leak in my EJ9, between the side where the ECU is mounted to the floor, the 90degrees joint is letting in water, I have done all the tests, scutter panel, sunroof drainage etc and all is coming out the bottom of the car as it should, I have no idea where its coming from, I can seal it up again but don't want water to be piling up behind it,

Any ideas?

It is the seam sealer right up behind the ECU / heater box. If you have AC its a pain as you cant get the heater box out to reseal and have to use a long brush, torch and break your back.

The leak seems to be coming from behind the sealer, I can upload piks of where the water is coming from later, I had the whole double din conversion done and didn't notice anything.

I have this Same Problem!

Checked Roof, Windscreen Rubbers, Behind the Plastic under the Windshield has a vent going down to Exactly where the Leak is inside! the Vent has a Air Filter in it that Spins.

You will have to dig out as much of the sealer around the crack and paint some more on there.
I have had to do it on a couple of my cars.
Oh you cant fix it from the outside of the car!

I took the glovebox apart and theres no water behind the motors or anything,

One thing though, the hole where the bonnet stay used to be is letting water in, as I got bonnet dampers now, and soon as I poured water in, its coming inside the footwell does it have any relation?

You can't see it without taking the boxes out right? damm should have checked it when I did the double din conversion, didn't notice anything out of the ordinary though.

Yes you can but quite hard to see and fix. If you dont have AC you may be able to remove the blower motor.

I have A/C, but I looked up, couldn't see any dampness at all with a torch too,

I am doing a engine conversion soon so probably look into it then.

Right guys,

Did a few more water tests, when I pour water behind the battery, its coming in so whats behind the battery that may be damaged?

Going to have a look during the weekend but any rough ideas?
