Oem all the way u can't beat genuine parts

i recently rebuilt my engine with all oem honda parts, you cant go wrong with oem:nice:

Lads mr. Honda doesn't make piston rings and everything on the car if ye want to get raped on bits like that go ahead it's how they make there money buying them cheaper and selling them on at 60% profit, do a bit of research

Use RIK (RIKEN) rings , they supply Honda

What money do you get STD size b16b for?

NPR (Nippon) are also fine to use. There cheaper and work just as well.

i think i need a set of rings in my car has anyone any idea what sort of compression test results a good b16b should produce

Is it burning oil ?

I wouldnt go by a set number , you need to do a dry/wet test. Do a compression test then repeat it but put a good squirt of 10w40 down the bores , if the compression goes up by 50/60psi + , your rings are worn .

But dont forget about the valve guides/seals and the PCV valve , do/get a leak down test done that will check for valve leaks and bypass your PCV to rule that out aswell.

You need to be 100% on the diagnosis before you rip her apart :nice:

Hope that hepls mate.
