Preface lift or facelift?

Well at this moment in time it doesn't seem enough as the company can't seem to get me one

Yes that may be true but then it also depends who your buying from and how good the company is. I know they have gone up I price so there is always a risk.

Cheers guys for the advise. I am using a company called Torque Gt which I have had some really good reviews.
Think I am going to hold out for facelift model
I just imported mine by TORQUE GT as well. Check my media ;-) I wanted a pre facelift.. because of the front bumper.. looks wide and like a touring car. I got a facelift and i enjoy more the facelift model. Mine is from 1999 with AC and powered mirrors. If you aim to install a big screen or navigation...go for facelift!

Expect to pay £10k for a grade 4 facelift...... Good company you've chosen, they bring in some lovely examples.
They really do good service amd provide genuine cars with all the original stuff and as well give a good care before thencustomer picks up.. Only one bad point happened about my experience.. my car was bringing a Japanese radio and they never gave it back to me as i installed another one... tried to contact them and no answer..

8k!! That's loads. Can easily get a low mileage grade 4 for that.

Pobably if theres not so much people bidding to the same car. I got lucky when there were lots of them in auction at the same time

My one was grade 3.5 7780pound

Damn! Didn't realise the kind of profit margins they were making. Still a nice 9 though!

To the op, I would seriously look at a grade 3.5, they can still be very clean. Going by what importers seem to charge, a grade 4 will cost you 10k+, which is silly money for an old Honda... Fresh import or not.

Well they havent found me any in my price range yet so i dont have one coming at all and its starting to frustrate me alot because i feel like i have missed the time to get one for the money

I was checking some prices in Japanese based websites, for example go-net and they roughly match I paid 1000pound for the vessel. Presume my 3.5 was around 6.5k pound. So you think having the right conects in Japan can make the price much lower...?

Goo net are dealer cars. They buy the cars at auctions for sometimes a third of the price of what they are selling a them for.

Don't worry too much. Plenty of 9s go through the auctions, and the exchange rates are continuing to drop in our favour. Something will turn up.

what do you mean bumped? The prices have started rising a lot in the last couple of months because people want them more now.

Who ever told you that is yanking your chain a little. Prices seem pretty consistent in Japan, may have raised a little over the last few years, but exchange rates have fallen substantially since 2013, meaning that the prices should be cheaper at the moment. For example, I imported a car early 2013, and another in December 2014. The car I imported in 2014 was 15,000 JPY more than the car in 2013, and cost me £1200 less overall.

What I'm trying to say is, 8k for the kind of car you are looking at is a serious amount of money. If I were in your shoes, I would have a look at what is for sale in the UK. There are clean examples that come up for sale, usually on here, for between 5-6k. Save yourself a couple of grand and spend it elsewhere, track time, modifications, a holiday, whatever. Obviously it is your money and your choice, but I would think about it before paying that much.

You well got bumped. Either that or prices have went up a fair bit.

Even too late, good to know for future refference ;-) dont feel sad bevause got really a good one. It was in auctions. How much you consider it should have been?

@Samuka88 No mate, I'm glad you got a clean example. Just raised the point initially as I'm sure Torque GT were selling fairly clean fresh imports for about £6-6.5k.

Fljoshua129 I understand were your coming from mate but the way I have been seeing these cars go at auction is mental and for mental money, I'm after a pretty standard car so I can add my own personal stamp to it. Yes I know what you mean by price has come down and exchange rate is good at this moment in time but no one is selling these cars in this country clean without rust or had stupid modifications done to them.

I thank you for the advise mate as that's why I am on here to gain advise from people.

Thats why i decided from one day to another..."lets take it from Japan". I tried to do a deal about two already in uk around 5-6k... but both of them modified. Fortenately destiny wanted a pre facelift black to be sold just before i took it and i got this well maintained i have now. :)
