Hey you lot..

As some of you know, i decided to put my car up for sale a few months ago but had no interest so i decided to spend a further fortune on it to get it exactly where i wanted it.

But after much thought on it i just can't afford to keep it anymore :( with the cost of fuel going up and my monthly insurance bills etc etc it's all got out of hand. i'm 22 and currently started a new apprenticeship and at my age, earning peanuts and trying to run a B20 teg is just not viable.

My car has been re-listed and back up for sale but yet again i'm getting no interest and i can only put it down to the fact of pople not knowing enough about the B20 engines and people buy Integra's for the "B18c-R" label you know?

So i'm thinking maybe it's best i try sell my entire built motor and swap it back for a B18c-R then try sell it that way. What do you lot think?

I also wouldnt know what sort of price i would put it up for (i know how much it's cost me to build tho!)

Here's the spec:

B20B3 block 9.6:1 CR
B18c4 P72 GSR rebuilt head with 10 thou skim (brand new honda OEM Valve stem seals)
EK9 cams
Skunk2 Pro series Intake manifold
BBK 70mm Throttle body
Facelift Prelude 280cc injectors
P28 ECU dyno tuned on Crome
F1 stage 2 clutch
F1 4.4KG flywheel
BWR Vtec conversion kit
ARP head studs
ITR oil pump
ITR water pump
ITR timing belt kit

Ideally i'd need enough cash to buy a 98 spec B18c motor plus labour to swap back over.

All help appreciated

P.S would be a perfect engine to swap into an EK9! :)

Such a shame to do this to such a beast of a car! No way you can keep it off the road for a bit and get a run around until you've saved up some money to run it or something?

I wouldn't want to let it go after all the time, money and effort thats gone into it! :nerv:

I know mate, it sucks to have to do this but i actually have no other choice. The idea is to try sell this and get a little civic or something...my insurance alone is £98 month, then plus running it is making me seriously skint :(

I seriously feel for you! Good luck sorting it all out! Hope something comes up an you don't have to sell up :nice:

About 50p now that being the case can I have it please :)
joking but really do you still have the standard parts ?
if so could you not retrn it to standard and see the upgraded parts to pay for the running of it ?

I have all the standard parts bar the b18c motor cos i sold that to fund my b20. I'm not gonna let it go cheap just cos i cant afford to run it..

Sorry to here this Dan :(

What will you replace it with?

well i'm not going to move away from honda..probably go back to my school boy days and get an EG, maybe an SiR if insurance is okay.

Sorry to mess you about with your tyres..you can see why now :(

Do people think the car will sell better with a B18c in it??

Need your opinions..

Just a thought, you could sell the b20 block and keep you head, that would mean just need the b18c block.

You could always put up some guaging interest threads and see if you can get some solid interest on the parts you want to sell, I've sold a few engine parts and they don't seem to stick around for long.

Shame you have to sell up though, I'd be in the same situation as you if I didn't have flexible work on the farm.

mate i dont see why people arent buying this. £6200 is bargain for whats nder the bonnet. stock ones can go for around and more than this price.
im just about to start an apprenticeship too! its crap at the minute but once your qualified you'll be rolling in it :)
good luck with the sale! im sure someone out there will want it!

what kind of power is that b20 pushing out mate?

It was 200BHP before:

EK9 cams
Hy-tech tri-Y
de-cat
2.5" custom centre section

So now it's been re-mapped with those mods it should be in the 215 + range mate.
