since the people in this forum are from all over the world, only a few are from the U.S. and most people on this forum drive EK4's, EK9's, or EJ6 with b16, b18, and b20 motors
well in the near future i will be getting rid of my d16y7 motor off my EJ6, but the question is, do i have to get a fully complete motor swap or is there a way i could get what i need to make my engine a b16 or b18 or a b20, im new to the swapping and combining engines to make your own thing, with my friends gsr integra, all there was to do was buy parts like intake, headers, etc and no swapping
i read on honda tuning magazine that quote "When the factory D16Y7 motor grenaded on Ros, he went ahead and swapped in a B18C1 Integra GSR powerplant. The bottom end remains untouched," so can i keep the bottom part of my d16y7? if so what heads and parts do i need to make it twin cam with vtec
i also found a site where i could get a cheap B20B Long Block, i read the description and it says quote "Ditch your old single cam and start fresh with this JDM B20B long block. This motor is a perfect starting point if you plan on building a B20 VTEC or are just looking for more torque than your old busted motor can produce. Includes the complete head, and block. Typically will also include: Intake manifold, fuel rail, injectors, throttle body and distributor. Priced at only $599.99!" also what is a long block?
so can i do that, keep the bottom half of my d16 motor and get the b20 long block, plus i want vtec and twin cam
thanks john
