remap and chrome?

alri lads i was talkin to some chap bout remapin the car he said i need to get chrome ecu and sumtin else then remap it dose anyone have ther ek9 chromed and maped and has it a big improvement in the engine??he said all that together wud be 600euro lot a money to be spendin and just want to knw ur thoughts type heads;)
 
Its crome not chrome and its not a ecu;) Crome is a tuning software that can be used with a chipped obd1 ecu. 600 all in including tuning? Is he tuning it on a dyno?

600 euro is an awful lot of money for a remap.

If you want to have it done: a remap means fuel maps and ignition timing and a few other things will be adjusted specifically to your car. You will gain power with it, the more mods you have the more power you gain by it.

If you want to do it yourself and want to know more: Redirection and read A LOT. They expect you to do your own research since there is an awful lot to learn about it.
 
Well it's not a bad price if he's supplying everything and at min. the car should be on dyno for 2hrs to fully tune it even after street tune which if hiring the dyno will cost about 100 a hr maybe a little more depending on who's their using. Who is doing it for you? Pm me if you like.
 
im doin it at urban performance in dublin,,heard they are very good at mapin cars,,did u map ur car??
 
Mick doing it for you? I'm actually going to be hiring there dyno for a few hours in next couple of weeks to finish a tune on a b16 swap civic I have street tuned. There dyno dynamics rollers is a nice piece of kit. Have you all your breathing mods in place? i.e full exhaust and intake?
 
yep thats the one mick,,ye got the intake manifold decat but nt putin the stright exhaust on,,ye he said 600 so gona give him a ring tomrow so he can sort it out for next week if he can,,;)
 
Did he say what hp increase you could get? Taught about likes of apexi vafc or neo?
 
tlakin to him today to order the parts he said the gains are up to ur modifications in ur car the more modifications the more gain so we have to wait and see in 2 3 weeks wen he dose it,,did u gain much hp wen u got ur civic remaped??
 
Have a dyno run done before tuning then youll see how much he gained. Makesure the car is warmed up to temperature first though. 600euro seems a bit expensive for a chip-only tune considering they cost around £1 per blank chip.

ye but wer in euros mate and its ireland bit steep here,,the ecu im getin is 150 and harness 100,,and the dyno 350 so he puts it up on the dyno tells me the max speed then chips it then back on the dyno and tells me my gains
 
My EK9 is CROME tuned. It really did make a big differnce compared to stock type R ECU + i can retune it evrytime i have new engine upgrade on my car. You need an OBD1 box and a conversion harness for you to use CROME.
