Removing air con ( ek4 )

I've seen a few people have removed air con from their cars, I removed it from my old integra before but that was because I was turboing it,

Is there any advantages of removing it? Weight loss?
It's no longer used in the car and was just thinking off taking it away all together
 
there is a lot of weight in it if you take all the internal stuff out behind the glove box, really good guide in the resources section :nice:

If you taking behind dash out get some polyporgh from maplin etc :run:
 
Yeah I probably would go the full way and remove the stuff behind the dash!
Think this might have to be done at the weekend! :)

Think there should be a replacement grommet required for the bulkhead, still no done mine yet :run:
 
That's true! It really is doing nothing! It had no button to switch it on either because I've a ek9 surround
 
I just fitted the complete heater matrix from the Rx ek9 into my civic, I already don't have aircon but if I press the AC button will it screw up anything inside? I noticed I can unplug the wiring from the evaporator (the black one), shall I just do that?
