Ok guys, I'm repainting my hatch flat or matte black. I have some cosmetic scratches on my front and rear bumpers. I will be repainting the entire vehicle because the clear coat is pealing. any advice or product recommendations, time frame expectations and total cost. it would be greatly appreciated I will upload photos or the process.

I'm new here but I do believe this is in the wrong secion. However, I would still be willing to help you out. If you're going to do the whole spray can deal the best matte black paint you can get is at Lowe's. That's for those here in the U.S. You can order the cans online also. They're valspar brand, and run about $3.50 a can. They work SO WELL! I love them. I've painted countless sets of wheels with them just to fix little blemishes here and there, and 2 whole cars with them. I follow the 3 coats from the cans with 2 coats of clear and people ask me where I got my paint job done. I started with no experience also and went from walmart cans, autozone cans, and even the 99c store cans. I was young.. lol. I stick with valspar these days. But if you're going to use a compressor and go the legit way, just visit your local paint shop and ask em. Matte black is a common color!

ok thanks guys, I have finished the front bumper and grill. it was a good learning experience. I will begin on the back bumper next weekend. had to do a ex conversion on my exhaust due to the infamous exhaust manifold crack. hhhaaaaaa dang you Honda.

You can't buff matte colours to remove imperfections etc or you'll end up with a gloss finish.

Have you seen the plasti-dip products?

As above plasti dip is very forgiving to user with no real painting experience.
