Hey guys. I'm replacing the driver side hard/metal brake line that runs to the rear on my EM1, but I can't get the cover near the front subframe off. As you can see, there is a silver bracket that slides through the cover as well as an inner plastic clip that separates the lines, but the way it is shaped around the 10mm stud makes it impossible to just slide out. How do I remove this cover and bracket? Thanks!

Hi sarah. I have just replaced all my l;ines in my ek4 and i'm afraid to say that all the pipes need to be undone and then the subframe needs to come off to remove the pipes. There is no way around it bar cutting all the pipes at the bend.

Hope you get it sorted!:nice:

Oh and that EM1 looks amazingly clean underneath for a 10 year old car! Cedit to you!

Thanks! My EM1 ONLY sees sunny days now that I have a second vehicle, so she's pretty easy to keep clean. Any ways, I had no idea what a PAIN replacing a hard brake line was. The helms manual says nothing about how to replace them. Now I know why Honda charges $600 labor. Well, I finally removed the cover pictured above by placing a lengthy flat-head screwdriver underneath the silver bracket where the 10mm stud is and popped it forward. The leverage from the screwdriver frees the inner clip as well as the bracket FTW. Now it is time to drop the sub-frame a little. D'oh!
