hello, my car is in getting a full respray. i am just wanting to know what is the best way to keep it look brand spanking? no swirls or anything? any advice would be great.
cheers

Use the two bucket washing method, Only you wash your car by hand, when washing and using the chamois don't use a rotary motion but a straight wiping motion. There's a few idea's to get you started ;).

Take it to a professional detailer or get learning how to use a buffer and buy some good quality waxes.

thanks very much kipper. and champ white.. i've got a da polisher what kind of pad and wax would you recommend? i take it i need to go better than auto glym hi def wax?
cheers

As mentioned the best way to keep it good is to be careful with washing technique.

• Good Rinse of the car, better with PH neutral snow foam to lift dirt and not strip wax
• 2BM with good lambswool mitt
• Large Microfibre towel for drying, chamois leathers can easily add scratches and swirls
• Championship White looks great with a high gloss sealent, such as CG wet mirror finish, put on 2 coats of this, then apply a good wax, AG HD or Collonite.
• I wouldn’t attempt machine polishing if you have never done it before, good chance you could make a mess.

Your car should be clean coming from re-spray so the need for clay shouldn’t be required, unless there is overspray which you can see/feel.

also to note, I'm pretty sure you should not add any protection to your paint for a certain period of time after a respray?

Think this is true....paint will "bleed out" as i have been told, left mine for a few weeks at least before g3 compound to flatten the bits buffer couldnt get.....then at least 3 coats of wax :run:

don't know CW, best he looks into it and finds out for definite though.

This is correct. lacquer is alive at least a month after it`s been applied. It`s sensitive to any kind of solvents, detergents etc.a good idea also would be not to put any stickers on painted surfaces either for that time.

thanks all very much, so dont touch it with any wax or polish when i get it back? just give it a wash when it needs it?
