S4C Tranny shifting problem

Isn't it a stock ek9 flywheel? I can see it's a light weight flywheel and thought it's a common ek9 flywheel.

Ok I will remove it and have it resurfaced at a machine shop instead of sanding it my self

thank you for the advise! :thanks:

here is stock, this is the b18c type r flywheel, b16 looks much the same...correct me if I am wrong.

Tama you are great, I never new my flywheel was replaced, what I have notice it is different from what I had on my B16A before swapping.

I can't see any brand on it to see what the cost could be, but now I have my clutch problem, I have been offered a clutch set from Exedy including a light weight flywheel 12LBS for $220.

Kit includes: Clutch plate, presure plate, release bearing, pilot bearing, alignment tool and 12 LBS Alu Flywheel which can be found here EXEDY OE CLUTCH KIT+12LB F1 RACING FLYWHEEL B16 B18 B20 - eBay (item 400181636927 end time Feb-14-11 14:13:36 PST)

I would get a clutch only, Exedy clutch is what I am using, you do not need a flywheel, correct? yours is ok is what I understood.

Besides, what you have a link to for the package looks priced too low to be an honest sale, beware of ebay scams.

You should go to your local shop to buy something like this, i speak from experience. ;) Have your current flywheel resurfaced, and you are all done.

that looks way to cheap to be a genuine item!!

Well what I can say is that Gripforce is a toprated seller on ebay, this kit is market as 16 sold and if you check the dates, its from Dec Last year till now.
I haven't bought this one, as I notice also the price is to cheap. But as far I know the clutch set are sold as genuine exedy and the flywheel is F1, which is made in china, and the clutch, made in japan. So I have ordered the Exedy Clutch kit only, without the aftermarket flywheel.

This is a brand new genuine Exedy standard OE replacement clutch kit. This clutch kit contains all the necessary components to do your clutch replacement and is the perfect setup for any stock or lightly modified vehicle. Exedy Globalparts Corporation was founded in 1923 and its clutch manufacturing business and prominent brand name Daikin Clutch are known throughout the world for supplying quality powertrain products. Exedy supplies to all 11 vehicle manufacturers in Japan as well as many other vehicle manufacturers including Acura/ Honda. Exedy is the largest clutch manufacturer in Japan and their name stands for the highest in quality and performance.

About the Flywheel:
F1 Racing Lightweight Chromoly Flywheels are made from 4140 one-piece forged chromoly steel. They are specifically designed to reduce weight and inertia for better engine response. Most incorporate special design features to enhance the air flow to improve the cooling of the clutch. The ring gear teeth are milled onto the flywheel unlike an aluminum flywheel where the ring gear is pressed onto the flywheel which has the possibility of seperating from the flywheel. All F1 Racing Chromoly flywheels have passed engineering tests to 12,000 rpm.

•Ultra heavy-duty and weighs only 12 lbs (stock flywheel weighs 18 lbs)
•Meets or exceeds SFI 1.1 specification
•Mde from 4140 forged chromoly steel (2X stronger than billet steel)
•F1 Racing Chromoly Flywheels incorporate special design features to enhance airflow for improved clutch cooling and performance
•F1 Racing Chromoly Flywheels work with every clutch including Exedy, ACT, Fidanza, Clutchmasters, and other OEM clutch kits
•CAD designed, CNC machined and computer balanced

Last year we got a Honda agency on the island. We that own import cars often use to order parts. Ebay is our easiest place to get most parts. I am glad to be part of ek9.org and have learned allot here. As 2 years back when I first bought my EG6 from Japan, I did not knew nothing, absolutly nothing! Till I got my eg6 and loved this car till today. As I love the ek9 type R also, I wanted my eg6 to become half ek9, thats why I made the crazy desicion to swap a 2000 Type Rx B16B complete engine into my eg6. That was 1 year back. But each day I am getting to know my car better and better, getting to know about tuning, and learning allot, especialy on ek9.org.

I feel myself part of the ek9 family.

To get back to what I bought, yes I bought clutch set only.

I have used sandpaper 800 with water and soap to remove the stains, and then spray some brake disk cleaner on it. And it looks better now.

Installed new cheap exedy clutch kit for $118 from ebay, and the shifting is working as it should be.

P.S. I bought the OMNI power master cylinder for clutch. I am receiving it today. Will post when I have it installed. It will not be a do it myself job I think, as I see I will have to bend the clutch fluid line a little bit.
