Alright guys,

Purchased a set of Samco silicone coolant hoses for the EK9 recently only to find out that they were a fair bit (approx 30 mm) too long. Definately the right shape, it just seems like they need about 10-15 mm trimming off each end.

Not sure why this is, but is it safe to cut any off the ends? Was not sure because of the method used for construction and if this could structurally damage the hose itself.

If it is possible to trim the ends, what method would be best?

Cheers in advance

Alright Jokeshopbeard

You can cut them if they are NOT reinforced.

I had to cut some as well the way i did it was to get a jubilee clip tighten it where you want to cut it (just so the jubilee clip doesn't move), and get a sharp Stanley blade and cut around the jubilee clip, use it like a straight edge.:nice:

yup theyre fine cutting, to be fair the ek ones ive seen usually dont need cut so maybe samco had an off day!

It's better if you have to cut them because they are longer than stretch them because they are shorter... Like me today that I am trying to see hoe to fit them because 3 of the 5 are shorter

Is it not because you have a dual core radiator? Which means the connection on the radiator is 20/30mm closer inside the bay. I had the same issues with mine, Just made sure I neatly cut it and it looks perfect.

why r you wondering to cut it or not??is there anything else to do??? I think no .
So just cut them even if you send them back at the seller he will cut them for you and send them back shorter
