Sidemarkers.. how to?

Hi, i wana create a USDM like sidemarker with a UK spec civic,

first of all, ive been looking into its legality, and im honestly unsure, does anyone know if its legal?

And also any tutorials about as i cant find one.

Plenty of how to's about if you look.

Its totally illegal though. By that i mean you will fail your MOT for it unless your friendly with the tester :nice:
 
It's not illegal if you fit a resistor and connect them to the side lights so they come on at the same time and just flash brighter when you indicate.

Yeah I'm pretty sure if you do it right its fine. A lot of new cars have them already.

eternal blue 2000 sells USDM dual filament bulbs and holders. Very easy to fit! Just wire in as normal and the third wire goes to the side lights.

I have the exact type you described fited to my civic and im also an MOT tester so i looked into it and they are an mot failure.

Quoting from the testing manual:
"Direction indicators. Reason for rejection: adversely affected by the operation of another lamp e.g. dual function lamps on foreign vehicles"
