Hey,

Thinking of buying a skunk2 intake manifold and skunk2 throttle body for my ek4 b16a2 , has anyone any experiences on theses ? any good ? they are around £200 or so each so not something im wanting to waste money on.

Cheers.

You could keep your stock one as-is or get it extrude honed. The b16a2 IM is very good from the factory and I wouldn't even be looking to change it.

If you do get an different IM though, get the edelbrock performer X, these are really nice.

Keep the 60mm TB until you get stg3 cams. If the Skunk2 IM is a Type R knock off then get it if you dont plan to upgrade your cams over stg2... Going for a larger IM wont give you any gains on stock internals B16A. You did say you dont want to waste money.......your choice... :nice:

Dino have you checked pricing on extrude hone? its gotten very expensive lately... if you do get a skunk2 intake manifold i would at least hold up untill you get cams, then make sure to get the pro series intake manifold...

Thanks for the advise :nice:

at the moment im not sure if im going down the cams route as wanting to move onto an ek9 in the future and that money could go towards that.

Iam planning the usual breathing mods , j's intake , decat/sports cat exhaust system and header and a dastek unichip with a remap so was thinking the IM and slightly larger throttle body would be beneficial with a remap , could be wrong ?

edelbrock performer X looks really good , worth the extra price over the skunk2 ?

if your looking to upgrade to EK9 keep your current car stock and start saving like crazy for your ek9,,

Have not, how expensive is it to do an IM these days?

Vtiyoo, if you don't go for the performer X you shouldn't even bother going with an aftermarket IM at all IMO. As long as you make it fit right by port matching ect.
But then again, if you're saving for an EK9, maybe you should just stick with very simple mods for this car, like intake- tires- brake pads- general maintenance.

it used to be $120 back in the day before this scene got huge, its about $400 to do an intake manifold now :angry2: at least thats how much the local guys want...

For $400 an extrude hone, I would mix sand with silly puddy and squish it through my manifold at my house. It would just take longer.
