Most likely this question is stupid but here I go anyway. If I want to use the Hondata s300 do I have to get hold of a std. ecu or can I use the Spoon Ecu?

i believe the Spoon ECU is only a Spoon chip inside a standard ECU.

so you can I guess, but it will be more wise to sell the Spoon and buy a P28 ECU for the Hondata.

I think thats right...

You need a standard ECu thats socketed for Hondata as previously said.. :nice:

:nice: Yes the EEPROM (non-volatile memory chip) that holds the map gets re-flashed with the spoon program which isnt any use to anyone unless they have the exact same setup as the vehicle that program was made for!

is teh s300 real time mappable, i.e no need to keep burning eproms etc?!!?
and can you get one witha base map for the b16b installed on it?

No basemap for the B16b ..Base maps are just to get the motors running though, not for long term use. You should always fully tune them before racing them.

On hondata you plug in with USB on S300, then you make your changes and go Control+U (or press the button) to update the ECU, but the sensors info etc are displayed real-time.

Hondata has some really nice functions on it now including the ability to overlay a handful of selected sensors over your video from your onboard camera and recorder (if you use one)! :NICE:

The boost by gear functionality is alot more advanced than the boost vs speed that the AEM uses. And the aem has half a meg 0.5MB onboard datalogging whereas the hondata has 2MB!

i have a an innovate LM1 wideband already.. done quite a bit of real time mapping on DTA before,, anyone know where i can get info on a stock EK9 ignition table?

You can have a dyno pull done with ignition mapping and AFR graph. then after that its just the fine-tuning

I dont know what they sell for but if you need the Hondata S300/S300J i can supply that to for £300 + shipping :nice:

sorry for asking but what is the s300J. Is there anything else I need besides the s300 and the std ecu?
Does anone need a spoon ecu ;-)

S300J is S300 for JDM aquare ECUs

But if you wish to use ECU boost-control/boost by gear then you need the boost-circuitry to be added to the ECU ..and the GM or Hondata solenoid. This isnt an option for some of the JDM ecus.

Then you can put your gear ratios in by selecting the cars model from the list...then workout what %duty cycle makes in pressure. add that to the Pressure Vs duty cycle table then it can understand pressure in PSI

then you can set it up like this for example...

LOW BOOST
1st gear - 10psi
2nd Gear- 12psi
3rd Gear- 14psi
4th Gear- 16psi
5th Gear- 18psi

HIGH BOOST
1st gear - 14psi
2nd Gear- 16psi
3rd Gear- 20psi
4th Gear- 24psi
5th Gear- 25psi

Maximum traction then! :nice:
