I have jst bought a spoon n1 system for my ek9 CTR.I have a 4-1 manifold in my car at the min,I'm wonderin shud i change it to a 4-2-1.???also i dont know if i shud use a de-cat in it.I hav a de-cat but some people hav told me that i shud not use it as the car is designed to run wit it in.Shud i put it back in???shud i gain much power from this.?? Any help lads

no point in the decat unless your ecu is tuned to run without one. if not the hp gains are minimal.
 
congrats on the spoon n1 mate its a great exhaust,put your cat back in it i'll be more drivable round town as well, as said before the decat will only work if its mapped to run a decat ,what make of 4-1 manifold are you using ??,it should be fine anyway ,i have a full spoon n1 and a JDM dc sports 4-1 manifold ,with the cat left in on my ek9 and this works nicely

totally agree. :nice:

what brand of header are you running? this car comes with a 4-2-1 header by default, this design gives more gains in the lower RPMS, i think the torque loss with a 4-1 header will not be that much.
 
Its megan my mate got it for me when he was in the states..hav had no bother with it so far..did you notice much gains when you installed the N1 system..when i get a bit more cash i might get a 4-2-1??
 
Hmmmm i don't know if megan header is better than the oem honda header. If you buy a 4-2-1 header, try to buy the toda header, i've read that is the best header for the b16b

Well i hope so,its the same as my mates one his is a mugen,its the same width and lenght as his and the same gage steel.There a US company sell a lot of stuff for all makes o cars for mostly hondas and nissan...sud b puttin on the system on saturday shud i expect much from it??

Hmmmmmm, can you please post a picture of your header? it doesn't matter if you put a internet picture, so we can compare them with the mugen, you will see they are VERY diffenent :nice:
 
i really don't trust megan header, i would recommend if you plan to change it, change it for a toda or a mugen header.

yep got a gain when i put on the n1 pulls stronger and sounds awesome ,quality is mint aswell
 
jst to let yous know i hav installed my spoon n1 it sounds the dogs it back fires like fcuk..it a tad bit loud tho..hav bought th spoon silencer hav not tried it yet hopefully it will have an affect on the noise

i recomend you try to inroporate a resonator into your existing exhuast piping instead of using one of those silencers that just go in at the tip.

you put that like half meter before the muffler, i had it that way on my mugen complete exaust :nice:
 
just for reference, i tried the spoon n1 bung for the tailpipe the same day i rolling roaded it without, the spoon n1 bung lost 8bhp.
