Hey guys, I just went to Japan and while i was there i thaught of going to Spoon sports. I baught a spoon clutch kit, and spoon throttle body for my ek9 to be. What do you think? Anybody here ever tried the spoon throttle body or the clutch. I would appreciate if someone could help me, thanks.

P.S. I am soon into converting my black ek4 into an ek9. And when I say conversion I mean a complete conversion. Meaning interior, body, suspension and most of all the engine. I will keep you posted.

spoon tb is probably same as stock itr?dont know about the clutch is it a paddle jobbie or what.

Naaaa.. It definately isn't same as itr stock... B16b and B18c throttle tb's are the same.. its bored from 62mm to 70mm diameter. Would like to know if the difference is felt as i am not thinking to install the tb untill i put the b16b engine in.. thanks.

spoon has two TB, one is a taper bore 62-68mm the other is 70mm in and out.

so nobody has ever tried one before in here so maybe he can say what gains there are with this tb????

Surely you will need supporting modifications?
Just bolting the TB on will lose power right?

Over-sized TB's sell because they make your engine feel more responsive for a given amount of throttle so that answers that question "whether or not the difference is felt".

Example at 1/4 throttle, it'll give the engine 2/3's throttle airflow making it seem like you've gained performance at the pedal. At WOT however, the engine only flows as much air as the head-intake-exhaust-and cam combination permits. So in this case an oversized TB for a stock B16B is senseless.

i believe itrs throttle body are bigger than ek9s, however spoon are 70mm

Your belief is correct. Stock CTR-60mm / stock ITR-62mm.

Again bigger is not always better its not going to benefit a stock B16B set-up because the stock TB is not a restriction for the B16B. In fact it'll hurt performance because when you go too big, you trade low-end velocity for top-end volume and hurt low-end "street RPM" power. And you won't need that extra volume on a stock B16B untill you enhance other areas of the motor.

And what do you mean by enhance other areas of the motor..? Such as?

Thanks for the help by the way...
