Spotting a Damaged Ek9

Hi Divin

I see you dont know the Glaswegian patter lol

i just mean, i know what he means, i understand his point. Hence, i see where you are coming from.

I really didnt know dcy where that good, ill give them a second look then.

Ive been trying to get one from Japan, i just dont have the time to wait 8-10 weeks unfortunatly, ive been driving a gas guzzler and its used 700pound out my budget in a month.

Im running out of money so private is my only option unfortunatly.

But i wish i could get one imported.

What you could do depending on your budget? Import a EK9 from japan through a reputable dealer (register etc yourself) and for the time being, get a cheap low power run-about till the car arrives!

I've seen quite a few on pistonheads and most of them have like 5 mnths tax/11 months mot, which could mean, they are recent imports and have been in ownership for like a month or less. What is wrong with the cars I dnt have a clue, maybe it's not what people like?

I guess if it's a car you're looking to keep for a while, go through an reputable importer and cut your costs down by getting a cheap run-about!
:)

If your current car is costing that much to run sell it & get 1.1 fezzy or something to pootle about in.
What is the big rush in buying an EK9?
I would take a look at DCY, competitive prices for sure & not too far for you to travel.
Just remember, you get what you pay for, obviously your not looking for a stock minter otherwise you wouldnt of had a second glance at the one in Gatwick but then on the otherhand you was worried about if it had been driven hard, i think all the mods answer that question.
If i was you i would take my time in to finding a standard unabused one, that would give you some idea to the life it has lived. Definetley dont make your mind up over the phone before viewing A) beacuse photos dont pick up any glitches & B) it gives you no room to haggle the price down.
You can still modify the car to how you want knowing that its been looked after & then sell the stock parts to get some cash back.
I know its exciting getting a new car & you just cant wait but in the long run it can save you alot of hassle & ££££££.
Good luck in finding one dude :nice:

I spoke to DCY, they sound okay to me the guy talks the talk so why not give them a phone, and plus its only in Yorkshire,im actualy pretty tempted by the 97' model i told the guy id be in touch at the end of next week....
