Ok, im pretty paranoid about the car im going to buy tomorrow.

Heres why:

The front bumper is resprayed
The Steering wheel is changed (possible air bag deployment)
Different alloys (damaged alloys in accident)
Gauges and Vtec Controllers (hinting at a fast driver)

The car is cheap - its only £5,595, 52,000 miles and apparantally £3,000 of extras.

So, how can i tell if the car has been damaged and ex repaired, as he doesnt have the auction report.

mmm risky, Take a ruler(Yes the plastic ones we snapped in school) And measure the gap between the door sills, bonnet hinges arch hinges on both offside and nearside of the car, if theres any kind of big gaps then i would suspect that its been in a bump.

Also id print off Blinx guide to buying a 9, and check everything on the list.

Maybe the front bumper got sprayed due to stonechips, you gotta remember there quite low cars so probaly prone to getting them!

Guides already printed lol!

Im just not up for buying a duff car tomorrow and getting it home for someone to tell me that aswell!

ALSO!!

Just looking at the pics, the headlights are different colours and one of the headlights has sellotape (sticky tape on it).

Look at the second image down in full size, you can clearly see the sellotape/stickytape on the headlight?

Why would that be there? Hold it on because it was in a crash?

yeah defo looks like some kind of sticky tape... hmmm

all you can do is check it out when you get there, hope its somethin daft though and doesn`t turn out to be because of some kinda problem :(

Yes, it was put there for reason, possibly to hold something on.

Im just increasingly worried. I can take as many guides as i like to see this car, but ive never see an ek9 up close!!!

Anyone live near Gatwick airport willing to come have a look with me?

Ok bit of a breakthrough here, i just got a call from the guy, and the car ISNT REGISTERED!!!! he never mentioned that in his advert!!!!

The car cant be registered till 1st of march unless i pay for the SVA test. So in essence i cant drive it home!!!!

Total waste of time!!

unlucky mate, that was too bad. bet you were eager as hell to buy it. :( remember that you are paying money, so you better ask any type of question to make sure you know everything about the car. from whom were you going to buy it?

yeah thats a pitty man, well probz for the best cause now thats happened you`ll end up finding another better one anywayz :D

i was buying it privatly from a guy near gatwick, i had booked plane tickets aswell!!

Oh well, just means i need to start again till i find another!

We went to look at that one too, it's an absolut dog !!!!

No danger mate!

Id never buy one modified (thats just personal taste) I wouldnt waste my time, why dont you just get one from japan they way you want it!?

Ive been trying to get one from Japan, i just dont have the time to wait 8-10 weeks unfortunatly, ive been driving a gas guzzler and its used 700pound out my budget in a month.

Im running out of money so private is my only option unfortunatly.

But i wish i could get one imported.

Heard some bad stories about companies down that way unfortunatly.

The only importers ive been told to trust is:

Tegiwa
Fastjapcars
private imports
200bhp cars

You've heard bad stories about d-c-y?

And your going to view a car with Sellotape holding the headlight on? Good luck lol

well I understand your issue mate , but with these things its better not to rush. Try to call duncan at fastjapcars and tell him your situation. Dont do anything stupid like buying an ek9 in a hurry coz later you may find out something that you would regret

im not going to view the car, now. :)

See where your coming from though lol

Dont go on a company by area, go by individual business...DCY are one of the most respected importers in the country, way bigger than all the business' you mentioned. There are a few good importers around this area, I for one dont have the biggest name but dont have an upset customer.
