Squeaky Steering...

Started last night on the ek3, turn the wheel either way and there's a squeaking noise as it turns in either direction, at any speed and stationary too. Sounds worse from outside than inside too, strange but it doesn't sound mechanical although it's directly related to how fast your turn too, any ideas what it might be? cheers... J.

Lower Ball joint for sure. About £10-15 from a motorfactors, easy job. Just use a big hammer!

First thing that came into my head was something to do with the power steering but if it doesnt happen when stopped id agree to check what R1PPU said!

It does happen when stationary, same noise, funny as after a long drive today it's gone, was just when cold and been stood for a while, doesn't sound mechanical to me, strange noise to describe, if it comes back I'll recorded it...

Lower ball joint bud only cose about 15€ if u can fit it your self very easy! Hope this helps

Cool, will take a look, any tools I need to be able to do the job? Plus how easy is it to change the PS fluid?...
