Hi All

Currently trying to fit my new steering wheel.

I can’t seem to get the horn working and im pretty sure it worked before. Any ideas?

Also, any specific torque which needs to be used ? Ive seen 39nm but feels v tight.

Thanks
Denis

The steering wheel nut is supposed to be torqued to 36 ft/lbs. I can help you get the horn button to work. I need to know more information.
1. Is your EK SRS or non-SRS model?
2. Which HUB ADAPTER do you have for this steering wheel?
3. Is your horn button 1 or 2 contact terminal behind it?

Hi,

I know this is an old topic, but maybe someone can help me out.
I have a non-SRS model (no airbags) and i want to add an SRS steeringwheel, i know the airbags have no function then. But the car looks so much cleaner if i install this one. Only the horn won't work since my car uses a diffrent horn system then the SRS models.
Do you guys have any experience with this?

May have to wire the horn up different. Been a while since iv put an OEM wheel in my car but dont they have spade connectors behind that can be pluged into the original loom.

There is no wire, we tried to make our own wire. But that went horribly wrong, the wire snapped off and the horn went full insane mode. Had to rip it off, it is fixed now but still have vietnam flashbacks :)

Anyway here are some pictures

There are a couple of ways to make this work but I think the easiest way is to buy a used CLOCK SPRING (found only on airbag models) and install it. Unscrew that horn contact tab (remove) from your picture on the right. The wire that is attached to the end of that metal tab, connect it to the proper wire (horn) on the clock spring. Then the clock spring connectors will attach to your airbag steering wheel. Voila
