Ok i have a real dilemma, recently my steering wheel has been shaking and pulling to the left slightly, when under load the shaking disappears. Sometimes you hear a slight knocking but not always. It almost feels like a massively buckled wheel as if you're doing 20mph for example the steering shake is fairly rapid and violent, but the more u slow down the slower the shake gets, almost like it's in one exact spot on rotation of the wheel or shaft. I had the car up in the air and it has an Ek9 LSD box, the guy at the garage asked if it had a LSD and i said yes, so he spins the wheel, and said no it hasn't. Apparently if it had an LSD the opposite side wheel would turn the opposite way to the wheel being spun, mine did nothing. i know for a fact it has an LSD so this isn't the debate, but now i'm told that the diff is ****ed. I disagree as the diff pulls you ****ing hard round a bend. Has anyone had this experience or any ideas as to what it could be?

Thanks :)

I had a simular problem (but not as bad) with some previous wheels , sounds like your alloy wheels are damaged , buckled?

sorta drawin a blank with ur problem but likin the pink/purple rocker cover :) wud make my wagon look too girly tho its already supersonic blue... aka by most people (every1) purple :(

LOL it's pink but thanks.

I don't think it's the wheel as there is a slight knocking noise too it has to be driveshaft/g/box related i reckon, just seeing if anyone else has had the same problems??

warped discs, ceased caliper, damaged drive shaft? wer ur discs off recently? a lil grit or dirt under them could cause a violent vibrating. ur meant to clean behind them with some sort of valve paste to keep them straight. not sure how correct that is so correction is more than welcome, best gettin it sorted asap cant b 100% safe.

it might be the shafts as my friend has a starlet and on idle it shakes but under load you feel nothing.

Surely a sticky caliper would have more obvious symptoms like burning smell, smoke and noise??
