Ok so I've cracked my sump and it's leaking, anybody know where I can get a new/ good used b18c6 sump from ???

The only ones I can find are pre- baffled ones that aren't cheap, and ones from honda themselves which are around £250.

Or alternatively are they worth welding ? I've found a place local that specialise in welding aluminium.
Will the welds last ? Anybody had it done before ?

Ps sorry if this is in the wrong section, mods feel free to move it.

You can get a spoon baffled sump for £200 ish I think mate? And would be better off just getting a second hand one if you can

B series are steel sump aren't they?

Geo it may have to be one of those ones if I can't track a used one down.

Jesse I thought they were ally ? Hmmm I'll need to look into this as steel will be much easier to weld.

Anybody know if a b18c4 one will fit ? As it would probably be easier to source one of those.

Just checked mine as its off the car.
Is magnetic....
K series is ally

Took the sump off after work today and after cleaning I could see that rather than cracked, it has a small rust patch and the oil under pressure must of forced its way through.

If I cut the rust out and got a patch welded on would it hold temporarily until I source a new sump, my car is my daily driver so I need it back on the road.

Get it weldded up. It will be fine as a permenant solution. As long as its welded properly, its no reason it should fail. Just make sure its clean before you weld it, and clean before you put it back on. You dont want metal shavings or stuff in your engine.

Unless its not just a patch it needs and the whole thing is junk.

Thanks for the replys guys got it welded in the end, should hold up. Cleaned the area with sandpaper and spray painted over it after I took pic.
