Swapsies! Spoon 15"s for spoon 16"s

Yup. Which is why I didn't ;-) I couldn't find any decent electric carbon ones is all. I may see about getting oem ones dipped. There are a set of Japanese brakes that are good that go under the 15s, but cos I'm blessed with a couple of amazing mates, I can get better for the same or less. But they won't give enough clearance under the 15s to be safe with expansion. Hence my original post. :)

Having owned a lot of genuine spoon items ALL of there stuff is overpriced! However it's also all top quality and like OEM Honda fitment.

Having also smashed my spoon mirrors I realised there is just no point having the genuine items in all cases.

You can get much better for less.

Spoon wheels... Each to there own.

Jj, find me a set of forged wheels weighing less than 5kg each in 5 stud fitment ;-)

Elchunk, calipers I meant, matey. Hard to do without weight to fit under a 15" wheel. And if I can get the right set of 16s, then my options open up, but I'm ONLY after changing the wheels for a particular set of custom made brakes. ;-)

Rota slips 5.85kg hardly rediculous.

Plus better acceleration in 15's they also handle better, tyres are cheaper and you'll save a load of cash...

5.4kg for a direct comparison agains't the 6.5 inch as is the Spoons. :p

Which bit of rotas are forged me dear? ;) Ima (hopefully) be losing over a kilonwith the brakes, so another kilo lost from the rotating mass is a fairly large effect on the handling, accel and braking. No, I don't know the figures, but the faster it rotates the "heavier" it gets. So any weight lost there is an absolute bonus, thus, to me, fairly critical. I want to do it "right" with as few corners cut as possible. And less weight out there is, to me, kind of a no brainer. :)

Which is appreciated. I spent 3 bloody months hunting for 15s. Happened upon the spoons, then this offer of the brakes came up. ;-)

The calipers can't be that bad I know of 2 EK9's up my way both over 340bhp running spoon calipers.

They're better than OEM EK9 callipers in terms of force exerted, but use the OEM disk so if you're getting fade, spoon callipers wont help.

Also they're really overpriced compared to other (equal or better) braking setups because of JDM tax haha :nice:
