Thinking about changing my exhaust soon to a 2.5 inch de cat and a Tanabe concept g, has anyone had any experience with this exhaust? I have been told by tokyo express that this exhaust is a very light, high quality 304 stainless and with the de cat could gain me 10 hp? Have been quoted £530 4 the exhaust and 60 for the de cat if i buy them at the same time. Any views welcome. :drive:

Got mine from there also, wanted something not to loud, not fitted it yet as I wiil wait til my oem falls apart, quality looks good, 10bhp is optimistic I think.

10hp is when your dreaming...

EK9 exhuast isn't restrictive. And I know DC2Rs stock exhuast system is already a FREE FLOWING 2.25in system. A lot of engineering went into it, as HONDA doesn't want these things to limit their products... especially Type R

I was thinking of just getting the decat for now then. See how that performs and sounds. So is there really no gains to be had from an exhaust system alone? :nice:

Of course you will get gains, just not as much alone. When you start adding things on like ecu and intake, then you will see 10hp. Remember that a B16B is already a highly tuned B16A with a factory worked head great for top end, and different valves etc etc. Improving any more without changing cams, you won't see much.

When I say highly tuned, It's more highly tuned than most Turbo cars. Hondas engineering is a piece of fine art.

everyone i know that has put an exhaust on has noticed a fair bit. dont know about bhp figs but they do make a good difference
