the best coilovers for track

The most expensive ones.

Yeh, I wanted to get some 18kt gold coilovers diamond studded but I just heard they're gonna release a 24kt gold pack diamond studded again but now it talks and tickles me bollocks as I drive :naughty:

What are the best coilovers for the track?
For honda eg/ek/dc2

I heard good things about the Eibach springs. Would be worth checking out. They're also pretty reputable so quality/reliability shouldn't be much of an issue.

main ones you'd want to look for are:

Eibach
Skunk2
TEIN aswell I believe
Cuscos
Ohlins

I'm sure there are more but that should give you some sort of idea as to what to look for. You'd be looking at over £500 for a set of 4. Minimum.

Hottuning, 120mm drop, have a store on eBay :nice:.

In seriousness, have read some good things about Nitron and Ohlins DFV's, although budget is going to have to be factored in here?

Nitron will make u a set at £1800
Or try quantum will make a group n1 spec for u . Spring come separate
As both of them last year . Quantum were more help and if they need repairs or servicing they are in the uk

Or have a look at Proflex, that's the route I'd take if I had the cash.....

Which car do you have?

For us to help you we need to know the car, budget, and intentions.

I'm going to go ahead and assume that you are not building a race-only car, and that you're looking for coilovers for your car that you can take to the track once in a while.
The "best" spring and damper setups for the track only usually have remote reservoir dampers that are adjustable in high and low speed compression, and rebound. This will usually depend on having an electronic log of your runs to make the best adjustments. Is that what you're looking for?

There is a lot of consideration to both the car and the driver.

For track use, is it a car that get trailered to the track, or does it get driven to the track?
Because a pure track suspension will actually be classified as dangerous for road use, especially if it is raining.

If you want a good 1-way suspension that does everything (motorway, fast road, track), then I would say the MeisterR GT1 will be right up your street.
We can custom build the GT1 to your spec, but normally speaking the GT1 are design to do everything well.

If you are looking for a pure race suspension, then you need to be looking at 3-way suspension, and those will require a larger budget than 2000 Euros.

For us, the "Best" suspension is one that let the driver get the most out of the car.
That mean you have to take the driver's style, experience, and usage into consideration; you then build the suspension to suit those focus.

We have taken 3 seconds off a lap over a set of Penske suspension because the driver have a very aggressive driving style.
By using a softer springs rate to make the car more predictable, the driver was much faster than on the Penske suspension that was design for a race car.
This is just a good example of a "correct" setup that wasn't "best" for the driver.

from my experience racing gear, ohlins dfv, silkroad rm8, tein re for JTC n1...

Thank you all for the answers. The car port on the track driving, but I use it only for a track day
Jerrick i have a civic ek4
Your explanation was perfect ;) how much a GT1 coilover?

The GT1 suspension is £1550 including VAT and delivery.
So it is quite a bit cheaper than say Ohlins DFV.

It is design as a fast road / track day setup, what that mean is that it isn't very aggressive on the springs rate.
So it will be a good all rounder that you can drive to the track and do the track day.

On a specific race setup, you really want to trailer your car to the track because it simply won't be safe to drive to the track.

That is what the GT1 are design for… something you can use all the time and enjoy, but hit the track and be competitive.
The GT1 suspicions shouldn't heat fade even if you drive it hard.
We couldn't get the suspension to fade after we valve it for an EVO9 running 1000lb/in springs, in 25C heat, on a bumpy road circuit, on WTCC spec slick tyres, for 30 minute session.
I doubt you will be able to get the suspension to fade in the UK on a track day session, and that isn't a claim that a lot of suspension manufacturer are willing to make on their "road" suspensions. ;)
