got stopped there the other day
a guard wants to get a full check on my car because he z dat his computer z its either stolen or wrote off
but to cut a long story short I am wondering is there any hidden chasis number on the ek9 and if so where
I know the chasis number is printed on the blue badge jus inside the bonnet and also onto the frame of car
there is one other place but Where???

Is there not one under the black? cover under the wiper blades?

I tell you what mate if it is and they find out your insurance will go through the roof coz then its a stolen recovered!

:nerv: damn! please keep us informed

I thought ek9's don't have a firewall.

Yes it does, here is and example of the ek9 chassis number stamped in the firewall

Did you import the car yourself??

To release the car from Japan and allow it to go on the boat you need your official japanese de-registration document. This certifies the sale and intention to export. If you import it yourself you will get this (looks like purpley colour paper) along with you bill of laden that you needed to release the car from the docks/boat and you bill of sale.

Althout you do surrender this original document, if you contact your agent in Japan (or get the company you bought from to do this) then get a official copy sent over and product it at the police station.

Generally all the stolen ones that reach the UK are brought through the middle east through europe into UK. If your car came directly from japan then id be very relieved as its HIGHLY unlikely that its stolen the japanese customs and UK customs are extremely strict now and have pretty much stopped the stolen (originally coined as 'grey') imports' coming into this country.

Get that document along the the original bill of sale from japan and there wont be any confusion.:nice:

Check your engine number it should usually be within about 20 of you chassis number eg GF EK9-1206645 / B16B-1206637:nice:
EK9's are too low value and not worth stealing in Japan so you will be ok there.
