Judging from how Facebook blew up I guess I didn't miss much. My entire newsfeed was about how terrible it was.
 
Yeh it was a little disappointing, you didn't miss much.
I think everyone misses Clarkson May and Hammond.
Got to give them a chance though, I'll give it a couple more episodes.
 
Actually liked matt on it, Chris Evans is just shouty and annoying. The rally cross track is a bit naff too. Did enjoy bits of it though. Time will tell if it works.
 
I thought Matt leblanc did alright tbh! His segment about the off road Ariel was decent. I see a lot of people hating on Chris mostly lol thought the jokes were a bit cheesy and acted out. Only the first episode though so will see
 
I watched it until I saw guns on top of the cars. Then I stopped it, deleted it and cancelled the series link. I'm not watching if it's the same shite as last time. I love CE, and avidly listen to him on the radio and love his presenting style(which for me isn't trying to replicate Clarkson, it's exactly how he does TFI). What I'm not going to watch is stupid races between dogs driving jet skies and otters flying planes. Unadulterated wank, and exactly the reason I stopped watching TG quite a while ago. I want a programme about cars, from Nissan notes to aventadors, not trying to get ratings by stupid clips & VT. They had a chance to bring back the true TG and they blew it.
 
Many would say that 5th Gear is the Havana Club (vs Bacardi) of Top Gear...and it just got cancelled.

As I said elsewhere, I liked it , only problems were the intro, outro and not having Chris Harris as a main presenter. The cod host on extra hear is a little bland, " cool " being his best response it seemed. The old top gear started to get repetitive and **** so it's good to have a change then again it wasn't much of change with the guns on cars but hopefully it improves. In my opinion it's on par with the old series no better no worse.
 
I would have thought they would have changed the format at least and like pdapaul said they should have made it more of a car show.

Also I don't think Matt and Chris blend well, and Sabine annoys me.

Agreed, they've cut they're nose off trying to keep it in line with the old format, forgetting that although we all knew how scripted the jokes and stunts used to be with CHM at least the 'on screen' personas they had made it funny.

Although I like Chris Evans as a person I think the TFI Friday presenting style its whats so cringe about it, people aren't watching wanting to cheer with the audience every 5 seconds, there doesn't seem to be any genuine banter or satirical build up to the punchline... its all just pure script work. :blabla:
 
loved the rally cross idea but the whole britain v usa part was terrible. thought matts part with ariel was good and think he will grow into it but chriss made me want to pull my ears off any time he spoke hated him even thought i like him on radio 2
 
I thought last night's episode was really good.

Enjoyed Chris Harris' segment with the Ferraris (that F12tdf was immense) and Joey (I'll forever call him that) is quite funny. Rory Reid's bit with the hot hatches was also decent.

P.S. I'd have the Mk3 Focus RS over the FK2 every time.

I didn't see it but I might be with you on the rs vs fk thing. Which surprises me as I've only ever liked 1 rs ford, ever lol

As a Honda guy, I wanted to like the FK2 and say it's the best new hot hatch on the market, but I'm thoroughly disappointed with it.

Tbh, I've always had a soft spot for Ford despite never owning one. I almost bought a Mk1 Focus RS before my EK9 - this was before they skyrocketed in value!
 
Mk1 rs focus is my favourite ford aswell.
The rest are abit too vulgar with ridiculous wings/arches etc.
