Try-y standard tube v 98 spec manifold

im looking to get a manifold for my EG9 , my 2 options are oem 98 spec manifold or PLM try-y standard tube manifold as i can get both for around the same price

iv been searching and cant find much about the try-y one, just wondering if anyone has one or if there is any dyno comparisons between them ? or what do people think will be best

itl be going on a B16A with just breathing mods and itr cams:nice:
 
thanks, i know the toda copy is very good but its just between these 2 as i only have a specific budget and can get these 2 for around same price
 
I had both on a b18c4, 98 spec sounded better and had better ground clearance but the car was noticeably slower after having the try-y.

Also on the plm try-y i had it leaked quite bad from the slip joints.
 
Was it the standard tube try -y u had ?? Was the ground clearance v bad ? You wouldn't have any pics of the ground clearance wud u ?
 
I've got a standard tube tri y on my ek9, does sit quite low but not too bad! Pretty good gains on my set up too!

No pics of the clearance i'm afraid, it wasn't great though. I was lowered 35mm and i had to drive slower on bumpy roads as it would catch a fair bit. Had no problems with the 98 spec.

Yup it was a standard tube. Top end power i would say was similar but the try y made good midrange torque which was lost when i went to the 98 spec, felt alot more flat in the midrange. If you do get one try and get the slip joints welded together, will stop it having exhaust leak.
 
not buying new tegiwa, dont have the funds, thanks anyway.

the ground clearance is puttin me off the try-y now. i have a plm rmf narrow on my other car and the clearance is terrible , everything else is spot on with it tho.
 
Dont know what people are saying about ground clearance for !? I've got one & the clearance is amazing ! Doesnt hang down lower than the sump mine is the plm power driven tri-y.. Toda copy & makes the power.
 
the power driven one is different id say. i have the plm rmf one on my coupe and the clearance is terrible
