(Edit to make this simpler -_-)

I bought this car as a completely stock 1997 Honda Civic DX (EJ6 D16Y7), a simple silver car to get me to work. I did not know much about cars besides kind of knowing how to change brakes or oil but wanted to learn and I think I am starting to...

After a couple minor mods (tociko shocks/tein springs/stereo) I hit 320k miles and it over heated on my way to work one day and would never be the same. I considered a couple things: a)rebuild the d-series in a way that i would eventually turbo it, or b)buy a b16b civic type r engine and swap it in. I went with the type r.

Here is the car as it stands now:

Engine:
B16B Engine (PCT)
2.25" Mandrel Exhaust (Flex Pipe, 24" Resonator (x2), Apexi WS2)
Short Ram Intake/K&N Filter
Walbro 255LPH Fuel Pump

Suspension:
97 EJ6 Frame
Hasport Axles
98 spec CTR Struts/Springs
98 spec CTR 5-lug Brakes Conversion (ITR 16" Rims)
CTR Strut Bar
Skunk2 LCA

Interior:
99-00 Climate Control/Dash
Custom Paint Interior/Headliner
Del Sol Seats
ITR Gauge Cluster
Rear Battery/Big 3
CarPC

For now here are some pictures of the car and the different things i have done to it:

Del Sol seats before i cleaned them which was now pointless because they are covered in grease and oil......

So instead of working with the d16y7 wire harness i just grabbed a d16y8 harness that already has vtec so that should make my life a little easier:

The seats are not as bad as I had anticipated... But still need cleaning...

The car runs great even though several things are not hooked up (o2 ect). Ditched engine bay battery, ditched power steering and AC. Just need to do the exhaust soon, no money for it right now. Mechanic get everything in fine and I ended up hooking up the wire harness and making the necessary modifications to it. Here is a little video of me starting it and driving around for a minute. vtak yo.

So here are some pics of the car as of right now and a video for exhaust audio before I get it redone on the 4th of September. Right after these videos a rock popped up on the freeway and cracked my windshield... Big ol' star crack right in the middle... There goes another $80... Anyway on to the pictures!

And here is a link to the video of the exhaust!

The first exhaust setup I got was so bad it literally fell off several times. It first fell off from a speed bump tapping the muffler so the hook that was welded to it fell off, leaving a small hole into the muffler and the stainless steel was all scratched (later re-polished the best I could). Then it just fell off from the collector on the freeway one day... I had to crawl under my car with just that crappy car jack and tie the piping kind of together and drive to a shop.

I have since gotten it redone with mandrel bent 2.25" piping, flex pipe, two 24" resonators and the apexi WS2 muffler. It sounds very quite now, I kept adding resonators because I kept getting tickets, is live in los angeles :(

Been a long time since I posted something, been busy with school and work so stopped posting all the little things I have done. But finally got my 5 lugs swap!

IMG_2482.jpg

CTR Stock Struts/Springs
CTR 5-lug spindles/front upper control arm, rear trailing arm
ITR 5-lug 16" rims

Took about 2 days mostly working at night to avoid the heat and I got it done. No impact gun broke my axles nuts but I had spares to throw on and got them tightened with an impact gun at a shop. Still using 13/16th MC but have a 1" ITR MC to throw in right now but lazy since I am gonna recheck everything I did in the swap at the same time (been about a week). OEM rotors/pep boys ceramic pads, goodridge ss brake lines.

Stops amazing now, even with the 13/16th MC. It actual scares me a little to realize how little stopping power i had before, also acknowledging that my tires themselves were terrible before (now have goodridge re760). No longer lowered and it is actually nice to not ruin my exhaust piping every where i go, but the suspension is still stiff (also have a flex pipe and strut bars in now).

I am very happy with this setup now. Below is a little video clip of the swap, like I said I work at night (mostly with head lamp light) so the lighting sucks.

Video Clip of Swap

Next up is to fix little things like window cranks, interior trim/some gluing needed (too hot here for custom headliner mid summer) but for the most part I am wrapping my project up now. Here are the major things left:
~Engine Mounts
~Tucked Wire Harness (Possibly make it myself to save $$$)
~Recaro seats
~Re-do trunk setup/roll cage?
~JDM/Si Body Kit
~Matte Olive/Forest green paint (classic white engine bay) (repaint rims white)
~Nitrous? (i will turbo something else eventually)
~Some custom work
