Finally got a set of compomotive th's coming 15x7 et21 .. i have eibach coilovers on my civic justnow pretty much as low as they go and the wheels on it are 6" wide with 195/55/15 tyres on it .. they rub when i have full lock on . was wondering how much stretch people recon a should get on my tyres . without getting pulled off the police ever two seconds . i was thinking 165/45/15? but theres not a great range of good tyres in that size?

i pray this is a joke. 165 on a 7" alloys, dangerous and completely pants looking.

Come on elchunk, did you not know that the wider the rim the narrower the tyre you can fit? That's the whole point of buying wider rims, is it not?

true, maybe some people just don't have the common sense to realize that putting a tyre 2 inches narrower than the alloy is a bad idea...

but its cooll!!!!!!!

The three of you are quite obviously never off this forum to see what other styles are out there. Not everyone wants there civic to look like a range rover. I'm not into the track ready look. So as the thread asks. I'm looking for advice not daft sarcastic comments

You could just try more camber?

think nakangs are only ones, well they were smallest i seen

165mm wide Nankang tyre, now that's what I call a ditch finder! :nerv:

OP: Sorry mate, you came to the wrong forum for this kind of advice. I don't know a single EK9 owner who would even consider doing anything like what you suggested. So, to give you the answer - get a narrower rim or raise the car, these are the only two safe solutions to your problem other than wheel arch modification. If you do go ahead and stretch the tyre, then I wish you all the best and hope it will blow out when parking the car in Asda car park and not @ 70mph on the motorway.....

why not try 195-45r15?? lot lower than 55s,id imagine its the height of the tyre thats catching on yours..

^defo the wrong forum, most of these/us guys are track people for sure. Perhaps you'll get abetter answer somewhere else.

Post a picture so we can see what the score is with it, someone on here might be able to give some advice but wouldn't hold your breath.

I don't think most people here care about whether their car looks track ready or not. Maybe it's more about good and safe driving here instead of just looking good ;) And I do know what you're talking about, stretched tyres, wide wheels, low offset, camber... Some cars pull it off but to me most just look like they've been in a hella accident.

To answer your question, 165/45 or 165/50 does fit a 7" wide wheel, but don't expect it to be a comfy or safe ride. If you want more info about which tyres you should buy, you should ask those people who are not into range rover Civics. VW boards perhaps? But they'll probably just tell you to get the cheapest tyres you can find.

Lol stance makes me feel as the owner of the car got hit on the head and lost their common sense and it was then stolen by a crazy dog. Sorry I mean no offence and this forum is dedicated to ek9 civic but as usual others are welcome but you as a newbe should perhaps do some research rather then make threads as this which cluters the forum and enjoy your stay if you still plan on doing so.
