UK Registraion Plate Laws


Heh...in russia for a custom plate you would pay up to $2 000. And the format is like this a123aa
As in the example - u cannot have three a'-s (government reg plates).
So $50 is good :).
Our fines look like this now
Speeding >10 kmh - $5
Speeding >20 kmh - $5 - $10
Speeding >40 kmh - $12 - $20
Speeding >60 kmh - $40 - licence confiscation for 6 months

Wrong parking - car will be towed
Not wearing seat belts - $20
Red light - $30 - licences confiscation for 3 months
Driving on sidewalks - $35
Driving on the wrong side of the road - licence confiscation for 6 months, or administrative arrest for 15 days
Drink driving - licence confiscation for 2 years and a fine of $80 + a possibility to get jailed for 15 days

However, if you have money, u can bribe your way out...and usually cops would stop u to strip u of money rather then fine u.
 
Are ya'lls plates linked to your cars then? In the US (I'm talkin Tennessee here) we go to the County Clerk's Office for a State Gov't issued tag and you can pay extra for Vanity plate (custom lettering) but it is limited to 7 characters. YOur plate number is in the system along with the Make and Model of the vehicle with the name of the registered owner. We also have Titles for our cars that prove ownership and you have to have it to get your plates. You get your title at the same place. Luckily my mom works there though so I get titles and tags FAST and I can get a "custom" out of a regular plate. My mom just locates a tag with the number and letter combo and has it sent to her office. Every tag I've had has had triple numbers. My old tag even had the first 3 letters of my name (Bry).
