Engine light just came on, speedo not working, engine seems and sounds ok, could broke apeedo cause eml light?

Vehicle speed sensor :)

Do a pin out and get the code number ;)
 
I'm assusming that's some sort of DIY code test any chance ofa link pls? On phone internet is gay lol
 
Will it not even start now. If not Will it start from a jump start of another car.
 
well now only ive got home, via the recovery truck, after speedo dying and EML coming on, the car wouldnt start,

bumped it worked fine for 2 mins, turned lights on rev counter spiked then stayed at 0 ( car still running and revving) then died

jumpleaded it this time, dies after a minute, same thing with rev counter,

RAC called, 1hr later rac guy recons battery is dud..

started with booster pack thing, worked then he said let it run, after a min or so running, turned lights on as insutructed same thing with rev counter
then all sorts of odd things happened..
MEGA misfiring sounded like a dying camal, EML on, SRS light on, Key light on, car shuddering after revs..

guy then ran the car with booster pack on, worked fine, but still broke speedo, EML

so hopefully after a trip to Halfrauds tomorrow a new batter will solve the problem

It is not normal that the bat go's death like that from a minut to another and gives so much faulty signals. Check your loom, maybe you have some kinda shortcircuit in your loom wiring.
 
car hasnt been used all winter, so im hoping the cold has killed the battery, going to buy a new one today then go from there :L
 
Honda were cheaper than Halfords when I bought a new battery in December - think Halfords were about £70 and Honda about £60. Not much but £10 is £10 :nice:
 
lil update, bought a new battery 69.99 but got it for 38 with trade card, win :D
fitted it, ran perfect, still engine light and broke speedo..

checked fuses the "alternator, SP sensor" 7.5 amp had blown, so replaced it no engine light speedo not working, drove 10mtrs light back on, done this 3 times, 3 fuses..

so the conclusion i have came to is that the alternator wasnt charging the battery because the speed sensor blew fuse, that alternator is also connected to thus crap battery...

so i need to get the car to college so i can put it on the ramps to change fuse, college is 20 miles away, so idk if i can get there with battery life because it wont be getting charged

so if i REMOVE sped sensor, will it stop fuse blowing ? so alternator charges battery..

feel free to proove me wrong :)

disconnected speed sensor on the g.box, fuse blown again :L
i don't know what to do now :(
 
Could you take a direct link from the alternator to the battery to keep it charged till you get to collage.
 
wouldnt know how to do that if im honest mate lol, ill try getting to college, if i get there win, if i brake down, Lols

dont know how to test them if im honest, i have a multimeter idk how to use it apart from continuity test :L lol
 
update

put it on diagnostics in college, got code P0443,

after potching and elimination we think this is what needs replacing...

is this the idle valve?

also lecturer recons this is linked to the broke speedo.. but if its not it looks a easy job of changing the sensor on the g.box
 
Another update (lol)

same happened again, this time rev needle died ( speedo still dead ) all electrics failed, car no start,
bumped it then worked fine for me to get home , about 13 miles..

my prognosis intermittent electrical fault :(

getting me down now, 4th day of driving it and it has broke for the second time :(

thought a honda would be more reliable than my corsa, starting to think twice :L
