Hi everyone, just a quick question regarding my car ek9 using alot of petrol ive noticed lately im constantly in the petrol station when before it used to last twice as long. I remember someone saying it could be a lamba/o2 sensor or it just needs a good service?? ive recently replaced the spark plugs and air filter with a bmc cad carbon one but before then it had a cheap ebay induction kit on it thanks

If you know someone with a wideband have them hook it up and see what your air/fuel ratio's are like. Or get a dyno run done most places will log AFR's on a run. Very rich AFR's would more than likely indicate a faulty 02 sensor. If the dyno used has the ability to load at a given speed/rpm have him hold it at cruising speed to monitor afr.

Hi would a fault come up if i connected it to a diagnostic machine, but there is no management light on the dash so i dont know thanks

Diagnostic machine won't find any faults if the engine check light is not on.

Ive had a quote on a sensor today at its gonna cost around £50 but there are two type they said, is there any signs if the sensor going or gone???

If they get very bad the engine check light might come on but otherwise unless you hook up a wideband and see how the AFR's are you can't be sure if its running rich. It may not be the 02 sensor and could be something else. A restrictive air flow won't help either.
