first off its a fresh built engine but its usin oil..heres wat its doing.. if i rev the car up to red line its ok, bita black, revs come down drop to idle and then a puff of blue?? also on hard exceleration high revs bita blue..im thinking a seal isnt set right or something..
 
sounds like it pal when she coming down the revs an taken oil by the seal. an she fine when going up the gears?
 
ehhh not what it should be on a fully built engine..it would put abita blue out,,nothing major...it got rings and all so..its used under 1 litre in 700km..
 
you sure its burning all that oil or is it leaking? the leak around the spark plug holes in the cam cover. i would be more worried about the black smoke. thats not good who ever built the engine has done a terrible job, bring it back and dont pay anymore to put it right
 
What oil are you using in the engine? I found that using a lesser quality oil seemed to do that as when it got to temperature and driven quite hard it would burn the oil quick and puff smoke when revs dropped now and again. I changed the oil to a different brand and it cured that, still burns oil though if driven hard but alot of VTEC's do.
 
no i use valveoline oil...we are gooing to wip the head off tomo and put new seals in..hope it sorts it..i didnt get the engine done off that crowd so i cant bring it back..i bought it with 2000km on it.
 
Check valve guides for excessive play especially the exhaust side
 
ye we will...i wana get it sorted bfore u get ur hands on it during the week..going to try do them them with out taking the head off..so the will be hard to check that way..
 
Impossible to check valve guides without removing the head. Sure see how it is after the new stem seals:nice:
