Came out of work last night and for some reason some clown had decided to do this...

snap off one of the tabs from my ek9 recess! don't know why anyone would even consider doing this in the first place!

So gonna put it to you guys what i do :clap:

1) run with one tab (don't need them to hold the plate got velcro underneath anyway)
2) snap the other one off and file them both until they are even
3) try and create some mad replica tab lol

Maybe they were trying to steal your plate?

I'd just leave it. :)
 
That would bother me lol,

Either find a new recess or make another tab,

Breaking the other to make it even defeats the purpose of a EK9 recess, may as well have your standard EJ9 one.
 
I didn't even notice what it was until I read further down, I'd leave it mate,
 
I had this done to mine as well. I've just stuck my plate on with thick double sided tape.

I swear all these scum bags need sending off to concentration camps...
 
I've not got a clue what they were trying to do, stealing my plate is possible but equally pointless. They probably knew snapping one off would annoy me! scum

Any idea on how to replicate the tab? :lol:

I had 2 set of plate nicked on my old car, as it spelt PSYCHO, prob on someones bedroom wall. Well annoying as had to report to police all the time.
 
I bet it was some hot woman walking by with her purse which the tab got her purse hung up on, your car wanted to interact with the lady. :p

Leave it alone.
 
Are you sure the plate hasn't moved, making it snap off?

I noticed when putting my plate on that it was to thick for the tabs and when squeezing it in caused one one break.

So I glued it back on and shaved some off the back of the plate.

The tabs are only designed for the thin metal plates the japs and americans use.
 
Some people are just jealous mate, they can't have so try ruin other people's! I'd try replicate the tab or get a new recess. It would annoy me knowing it was broken even tho most wouldn't notice.
 
Nah man pretty sure the plate hasn't moved. Only reason I say this is that I've got sticky velcro pads behind my plate top and bottom so it doesn't actually use the tabs at all :/

I'm the same mate. Only found out today and it's pissing me off lol gonna attempt to mould a new one ha

Ye mines been smoothed of so no tabs. Assuming previous owner boke one when fitting private plate
 
Is there an after market replacement for these? carbon fiber maybe?
 
Haha yeah it is pretty annoying. Not sure what I can do really. Especially when that was wasn't even glued back on it was the other. Anyway I've taken the other one off for now and gonna try round a few plastic places see if they will make me a couple up. First place said it wasn't worth their time today, assuming they'll all be like that!

If anyone happens to have one they don't want I'll take it lol
