This is the first car ive had since i was 18 (im now 22)
the cars been fine since i had it and i've kept up to date on the servicing.

recently ive had to get a new backbox installed and mid silencer because sound deadening material had broken loose and was roaming around in the exhaust system.

i've since had these two parts replaced but now im stumped with a entirely new problems and i have no idea what it could be.

*Note this problem has only started once the new parts i have listed have been installed.

------- List of Problems---------

-after driving the car for about 10-20 mins the exhaust begins to rattle (this doesn't happen from the moment the car has started but more like once its warmed up correctly)

-linked to the above problem when the exhaust begins to rattle the sounds changed completely from a quiet normal exhaust note to a booming noise as if the gases are being pushed out at an alarming rate.

- once the car is in idle revving the exhaust system shakes violently! only to stop a few seconds after coming to a standstill

-similar shake seems to occur if reversing.

------ checks --------

ok first thing i've done so far is slowed my driving down, this has helped but lets be fair its not a solution.

second thing ive done is check how stable to system is, looked under the car checked for leaks and made sure its secure. all is fine, no dents no leaks nothing.

thirdly is to take it back to the exhaust dealer i got the parts fitted, basically they said the exhaust was fine and it was my car that was the problem, he mentioned that it could be the exhaust valves opening early and the loud noise and shaking is caused by the sound of the combustion.

Too be fair i didnt think much of that answer as all this has only since started to happen since the 2 parts of the exhaust system was fitted.....

Any ideas/Advice/Help guys?

Cheers

Ryan

They will say anything to avoid doing the job again. The biggest problem with these tyre/exhaust dealers is they use the absolute cheapest exhausts they can get hold of. In the workshop i work in we have given up using the cheap motor factor exhausts because of all the problems they gave us. We now just fit genuine original exhausts, they generally only cost about 30% more.
Go back to them and just make a big fuss and scene till they fix it.
If this doesn't work then go get a new original exhaust.
Good luck Dunx

Thanks for the info Dunc,

i've finally got a new job so finally i can afford to get this sorted with the better quality parts :)

Any idea if i could be anything other than the exhaust that are causing the problem?
naturally fingers point to the parts that were just fitted because the problem started when they were, but i'm jus being safe.
