Hi all,
Finally my clutch arrived yesterday (took a week using parcelforce 24 express service-due to snow earlier last week delaying ealier packages)
Anyhow, but this time, i couldn't put into gears whilst the car was running. I could just about start the car up by putting into gear first, starting car (felt like starting car in gear WITHOUT stepping on clutch) and driving and managing to put into gears thereafter by careful throttle and rpm timing.
Anyhow, when approaching traffic lights was a misery. Either timing was perfect, or when i had to come to a full stop, the car stalls (even when placing foot down on clutch). Switch off engine, put into gear, and start up again-painful process and heavy on the starter motor, leads, plugs etc.
Ok, that was the ordeal. when the clutch was changed, this was found to be the cause of the problem:
One of the casing that held one of the springs had come apart, casing the spring to get jammed and grinded against the clutch, the clutch itself was caused to grind, and the release bearing was somehow jammed with all the metal bits flying around-caused rest of clutch to be constantly rubbed down to almost nothing.
Anyhow, issue is now resolved, with new MTF in transmission, new clutch-shifting is absolutely slick, smooth and silky. I hope this will help others for future reference if they have these symptoms with their clutch/transmission/gearbox problems.
Thank you all for all the sound advice and guidance along the way.
