Hi guys i just converted my ek4 to an ek9 replaced the whole engine and dashboard harness too so the complete harness is of the ek9 but i have problems with the vtec and rev limiter. Vtec is kicking at 6000rpm and rev limiter at 8800 rpm. Its not normal. My other b16a2 vtec used to kick at 5500 and rev limiter at 8500. Ecu obviously is of the ek9 too. I am completely with no answers to my probs. Did anyone ever had this prob please. Need desperate help!!

To me this sounds normal as thats when mine comes in and my limiter is about the same but im no expert im sure some one more knowledgeable will come along soon :)

So you put a B16B engine and ECU in your EK4? In that the change in VTEC engagement point and limiter point is to be expected, as this is where it is set by the EK9 ECU.

Yep im sorry guys.. I just called a friend of mine who has an ek9 and asked him when does the vtec kick in and the limiter and he told me the same. Im sorry guys but i panicked a bit cos i expexted the vtec to kick in at 5500 and limiter at 9000. Had that impression i don't know why. I will post pics up soon so you'll see my project. It came soooo bloody wicked and aggresive. Full conversion including 5 lug, complete subframe with steerng rack, engine, complete upholstery, rear tailgate, facelift front end and rear bumpers. Going for a track day in sicily on the 4th december so i'll post some vids too. Thanks anyway guys and sorry!! :angry2: :thanks:

y did you change from b16a2 to b16b?There isnt much difference between the to well not enough to warrant change the whole engine imo

The main objective was to make a whole conversion from ek4 to ek9 and ek9's comewith b16b engines. Now in the future i'm gonna replace the crank and con rods with b18c ones and turbocharge it and can pay licence for a 16 rather than 18 since here in malta there is a huge difference in the licence price between 1600cc and 1800cc.
