Hey guys/gals,

I am currently in the middle of replacing my B16B engine with a B18C6 and JDM ECU. I bought the B18 from user Richie2104, hopefully it's arrives fully working order, haha.

Anyway, I will post some pictures to let you guys see what's happening in the near future. Hopefully it's plane sailing from here on.

some photos from the weekend, dont know why the first one is blurry. haha

Thats the old B16B out now, just waiting on the B18C6 to arrive with the JDM ECU.

The old engine has covered roughly 70k miles, but is in need of a full rebuild. Not exactly sure what is wrong with it, as its not been stripped fully. I dont have the time to do it, so if anyone wants it, give me a mail.

When i removed the sump plug, it was full of metal swarf, the person who rebuilt the B16B the first time used cheap parts and done a **** job of it. (Rally company in perth) Hence why I have just bought a new engine. I think the big ball joint wasnt lubricated and its sheared something. (ive no clue really, jibbering rubbish now haha)

Ill get more pictures up next weekend, looking forward to getting it back on the road already.

B18C6 Engine got delivered to the house today, chuffed to say the least :)

Haha honestly, I cant wait to hit the vtec. Its been far too long!! Ill keep the photos coming, then post a video of the first turn of the key:nerv::nerv:

I have finished off putting the B18C6 into my EK9, and fitted the JDM ECU. Everything went smoothly, but now the engine wont start?

After trying to turn it over for the first time, it wasnt starting, so I pressure tested all the cylinders and they are all reading ****ing ZERO. haha.

Anyway, I thought it would of been the tappets, so got it toed around my area trying to start it, it was firing up but sounding really lumpy and cutting out. When sitting it doesnt want to fire up, and just puffs out white smoke from the exhaust.

All spark plugs etc etc are sparking away, but no compression still. The B18C6 that I bought from a member on here was meant to be a solid lump, so by taking his word, I dont know what to do next assuming that its not ****ed. The engine has been sitting for around 6 months though in his garage.

Any help would be appreciated

All the cylinders read zero compression?
Checked the timing is correct?

Yes, all cylinders are reading zero. The timing is correct, and it dropped out of another EK9 in a working state and straight into mine. Im confused, everything seems to be wired up correctly. maybe something to do with the tappets?

if its been sitting a while try pooring small amounts of engine oil down the plug holes, itll help the rings seal and stop any compression being lost in to the sump ect

You used the compression tester properly? Not a faulty tester? Or them all to read zero is very odd.

How you using the compression tester? Make sure to crank on WOT (wide open throttle ) it can't just read zero on across on all..

Could try Swapping your distributer with your b16b one, The coil is likely to be shot in the other one. .
