I`m having my new shocks built which will have ride height, bump, rebound and preload adjustment and the spring rate suggested to me was 80kg front and 60kg rear any thoughts on this,i use the car everyday for work with the view to tday it later.

lol at 7000lb and 9000lb springs :p It will be a bit harsh to say the least...

I got 10kg front and 7kg rear.. id say thats about perfect for what I want.. 80 and 60? Rather you than me LOL

thanks for the reply guys,I`m just wondering if there are different ways of rating /measuring the spring rate, because I have a 75kg spring on my bike which weighs only 280kg with me on it:blinx:

Thats a good comparision for a different measurement system rating there, for example your 10kg and 7kg springs could be say 7kg to move 1cm were my 60kg could be 60kg to move 10cm??

Get 8kg front and 6kg back, If they did actually tell you 80/60kg....I'd run out of their shop.

What make are your shocks? How many levels of damping? When you say TD's later, how many a year will you plan for?

Not from the shop, direct from the manufacturer. Spring rates don`t seem to have a universal measuring system across the world, this american site Suspension Spring Specialist, Inc. rates in hundreds of pounds, divide that by 2.2 (1kg=2.2lbs) and you similar figures to what I mentioned earlier, just because someone does something oneway doesn`t mean it`s the only way.
