will dc2 b18 mani give more power than b16??

an OEM 98 spec DC2 mani will is better than an OEM EK9 mani, they're straight fit but i wouldnt bother using the heatsheild.

give more power, no.

Sorry you are wrong there mate, they give a good power increase!
The OEM EK9 is very restrictive IMO.

how come so many fit them to their ek9's??

Because they give very good gains for the price over the aftermarket items!

...for more efficient flow of engine exhaust.

This is true & mainly down to the fact that they use bigger tube's than the OEM EK9 mani.

The 98spec OEM 4-1 mani is just as good/if not better than some aftermarket ones!
There is a thread on mani's/headders on hear with dyno graphs to prove.:secret:
(ill see if i can find it for you now!)

thats wat i thought. thanks Jimbob. dont suppose u know if a b18 sir manifold is the same as b18 type r??

My thoughts on exhaust manifolds ["headers"] are that they open and hopefully speed up the flow of hot exhaust gasses exiting the engine -- allowing a cleaner cylinder combustion to take place.

Without a proper tune to the air/fuel mixture after an upgraded exhaust manifold is installed will net few gains over what can be gained from a proper exhaust and ECU tune. Without more air/fuel going into the engine, gains will be minimal.

I have seen cases, after a I/H/E was installed without a tune, where the engine ran very lean. Not good. All these add-on parts need to be adjusted for, especially when upgrading the exhaust and fuel delivery components.
