Can I use some P73 84.mm nippon pistons with a cylinder brace in a b18b1 block and still be safe for a long life build with 12.0:1 C/R. I see a lot of builds with 84.mm bore and no brace at all, putting out good whp. I don't know if they last, but I was inform that if you bore over 83.mm you need to have your block sleeved. Does any know the real facts about this brain fart of mine!

with 84m you should sleeve, but with a block gaurd and not being turbo u should be fine. just make sure the block gaurd has good enough coolent holes. back in the day nuformz block gaurds were the S**T, not everyone can drop $800 on sleeves.
