hello everyone..i got this intake tube the real big one for free..i dont know the brand here it is $Image0637.jpg

anyone knows what brand it is? because i havent got the filter it got lost,

what gains should i get by changing to this..i got a stock engine b16

is it a smart move or not?

thankz..il wait for your reply and opinions..more hp to you guys
:thanks:

looks like a copy of the J's racing intake, if you measure the diameter of the filter side I'm pretty sure you can get a generic K&N filter to match up to it.

As for gains, in my experience the J's style intakes are not great for gains, in fact they're possibly even detrimental without a heatshield installed as they just suck up hot air from the engine bay.

But sound wise, I don't think you'll find a better sounding intake

From what I've read, quite som ECU tuners don't like it in terms of power gains.

whats the reason behind jt?
is it same as the reason of jokeshopbeard? that it sucks the hot air from the engine?

Probably, yeah. The tuners don't see real gains with the intake.

i think its an imitation too..because it is made from hard plastic, how about i do this:
instead of putting a filter to the filter side, ill connect a tube running down to the bumper so that it will suck cold air from outside instead of the hot air from the engine.
what do think would happen guys? anyone have done this before?

I think it would be best to keep the filter on the whale *****, then make a box around it with a CAI. If you search on this forum you can find some examples.
