Hi Guys,

Been floating around for a short while. Recently bought my brother his first car, this EK9. He is fast approaching 20, and has his test booked soon. He didn't want a normal car when younger because of ridiculous insurance on something that he really didn't want to drive. So he has waited, and I decided I wanted to buy him his first car.

Once, he has passed his test we will be using it on track, and he will learn how to drive it under instruction properly. I'm not just putting him in this and letting him out on the road, even though he is really sensible.

I have driven the car a few times after the changes we have made and really enjoy it, for me it feels under powered but the handling, I have to say, one of the best handling cars I've driven, so much fun, and playful rear, and the feedback is great.

I have had a handful, of DC2s, DC5s, 172 Cup, VX220's N/A & Turbo, EVO 9, 360 Spider, I also like my bikes. I currently have an Accord Type R, undergoing changes, but last ran 500hp/370lbt and rev'd to 9300rpm.

We've had the car just under 2 months and done the following.

Removed J's Racing Intake - Fitted Stock
Removed BuddyClub Exhaust - Fitted Stock
Fitted 2.5 Decat
Fitted Eibach Springs
Fitted Kumho KU36 205 - Sticky but the edges have already gone blue after a few road drives, anyone else had this?
Fitted EBC YellowStuff Pads all around
Added RBF600 Fluid
Replaced old tired VOLK stickers
Spoon Door Stickers
Spoon Sun Strip
Spoon Gear Knob
Spoon Reservoir Covers
Stripped out the Rear.
Full day valet / detail.
New Battery
Buffed Head Lights

I just have the timing belt, tensioner and water pump to do, hopefully tomorrow.

Other mods on the car are:

TE37's 15"
Spoon 4-2 Section Header
NGKR HT Leads with Earth Straps
Defi Water Temp Gauge
Defi Gauge Controller
BC Oil Cap
Sard Rad Caps and Hoses
Arches are all rolled.

The only other things we are currently we be doing hopefully over the next 2 weeks.

Bucket Seats
OMP Deep Dish Steering Wheel
Tegiwa Racespec Shifter
Energy Shift Bushes
Mugen Accelerator Pedal or the set.

Here are a few pictures, we are taking it to the Ring in 3 weeks :)

you are defo the worlds best bro !!

this looks very clean mind asking where you got it ?

Wait!!! You bought your bro an EK9 for a track toy??? Big Kudos!!!! Most i got out my bro was a zippo! lol.

Cheers Fella's.

I'm in a fortunate enough position where by I can buy him this, I was going to give him my ATR but with 500hp that would be pretty irresponsible, he is 10 years younger than me and we do pretty much everything together, so if we want to do track time I think this is ideal as my ATR will be far too much for him.

. He does love it, especially originally wheels, he is currently giving me grief for running Rota's on my ATR haha. Although he is a Toyota fan I'm sure he will use this for a few years before going MR.

We have the Ring, Oulton, Donington up and coming, he just needs to pass his test. :)

every fancy adopting a new bro I'm here ;) amazing man real nice hope he appreciates it all he must be chuffed. Great driving cars just have to keep on top of it

Very nice ek9, looks very fresh.. Any pics of your cars?

Cheers guys, nice Sam, Alan's nearly finished doing the new manifold, i/c pipe work, downpipe, and screamers :)

Here's my ATR, now has new mani, dp, I/C pipes, twin screamers, twin wastegates, Full size rad, BC Stage 3 custom tubro cams, softer clutch masters clutch plates, FX700 was insane!, M2B4 gearbox rebuilt, so geared to 200mph at 9200rpm. :)

She should be back on the road in mid Sept :)

She's had over 150 dyno runs, as ran her at 415, 475, then 505hp. Hence Ro lifts on this graph early as peak power sustained to 9300 was 505.

Im hoping to make her more driveable, high top speed, i would like to reach over 180, and more torque id like 400+.

Holy **** ! Beast of an accord mate, never seen one with that kind of spec before, must be a handful ! lol.

10/10 as well for buying your bro a 9... hero ! :D

Cheers Gav. Took a while to make, especially when revving pasy 9K and being a 2.2. I'm a sucker for revs, and even though it's a Turbo I still wanted it like VTEC so all up top making sure I didn't get lazy and still worked the gear box lol. I built a lot of it on the drive.

Surprisingly because the torque isnt super huge, she had great traction in 3rd onwards, on A048s, my friends running B18 Turbos couldn't believe the traction I got.

She topped out at 170 in 5th @9200rpm with stock ATR gearbox in what felt like seconds lol.

Cheers guys.

Ordered a 330mm Steering Wheel with 3" dish, and a 3.5" boss. Will be taking the passenger seat out with a view to modifying the rails to get the lower driving position. Then looking at a short shifter and bushes, but poss make an angled extention to suit me and my brothers driving position preference.

Its almost there :)
