Got the vtec solnoid off, alittle bit of what looks like paint in the mesh but nothing I would call blocked. No noticable metal build up either. Will take the cam cover off and have a poke about later.
Haven't pulled filter apart yet but that's to do.
Oil pump is the reason for pressure loss, now to find why.
The gears in the pump have pitting and scoring, Pitts in the deeper grooves of the pump and scoring on the "teeth".
I think if it was sucking up crap it would just be pitting but this is just guess work from me tbh.
What did your pump look like when it was crap sucked up? Any scoring

Here's some pics, I'll clean the gear up abit and try and find evidence of the crank being bent from any damage to pump but I'll wait for DTI to confirm.
Pretty sure the scoring around the outside of the pump is from the swarf coming off the gears, could be wrong of course.
