Upgrading to 4 pots - dust seals?

You can fit EP3 300mm brakes under OEM wheels with some fettling, might be a shout? From the pic you put on FB it looked like your brakes had overheated so going with the bigger 300mm disks would be a good way to go!
Ep3 discs won't fit ek9. Bore is too small.

Check out the thickness of atr discs -

Ep3 calipers are on the opposite side to our calipers. Hence why you swap them round when fitting, As jesse said
Tbh I wouldn't bother with them. Full atr setup is superior as its double piston also the discs are thicker at 28mm.
Ek9 disks are 282 x 23mm / bore size - 70.0mm
Ep3 - 300 x 25mm / bore size - 64mm same as 96 spec dc2
ATR - 300 x 28mm / bore size - 70.0mm same bore as 98 spec dc2 and ek9. So the atr setup is simple bolt on to the ek9 and 98 specs.

On a 96 spec teg it's a little different like mine for example I got my atr mtec discs redrilled to 4x114 and had to run a spigot spacer to increase my bore size from 64-70mm and use a couple of washers on my carriers to centralise the carrier with discs. I could of used ep3 setup as the discs would of slotted on but I wanted thicker discs. Whatever you do don't run atr calipers with ep3 discs as it effects the longevity of the caliper as the piston will get pushed out past the rubber seals as the ep3 discs are thinner! Not sure most of this is relevant to this thread so I'll stop now lol

Ahhh got you, thanks for that!

In regards to the bore size, I know that Andrew always had the bore size increased, after that it's bolt on.

What Irf said basically,
Those discs do look beefy don't they!

Yeah had the ep3 setup on my Jordan with 5 stud and 4 stud. and as Logan said hubs machined and it's a straight fit pretty awesome brake setup! I ran brembo blanks and ds2500 pads and would stop the car nearly instantly had the back end lift a bit also it's a option for you I couldn't fault them just a bit of a pain having to get hubs machined and putting new bearings in

You can get the hubs machined and they fit perfect. As said @mld22 runs them and @RyanSi had them on his Jordan which was 5 stud and both had them under oem ek9 wheels
No need to do that with Atr discs as the bore size is the same 70mm for (atr, ek9, 98 dc2). Direct bolt on

Yeah the hub on 4x100 is smaller diameter only have to machine the hub if using ep3 disc on 5x114 but as @irf said it's a straight fit to use atr disk as bell size fits directly on to a ek9/dc2 hub unsure if that disc is compatible with ep3 caliber though

You would need a 28T carrier for it to work (28T is stamped on the carrier, Refers to the disc thickness it's compatible with) such as the atr one.

I have just replaced my brakes all round with ds2500 and oem disc with braided lines and 5.1 fluid. It literally blows me away how good the oem brakes are. I've owned every type of honda and the ek9 oem brakes are by far the best brakes. I was brake testing on the nurburgring straight last weekend and the car stops from 130mph so fast it hurts your eye's. If I was ever going to upgrade I'd go for the atr twin pots after reading irfs post, thank you.

You might be enjoying the ds2500s now but they'll soon crumble away/leave deposits and cause judder

going for the yellow speed 4 pot setup from @Tegiwa Imports now I think :)
Heard too much pad stuff about the midilites, don't want spoon scene prices when I'm not even changing disc size at all and two piece discs are just too much to ship over from japan.
Yellow speeds come with 2 piece discs and fit under 15s (just) so I'll be giving these a try :nice:

Sounds like the pad was sticking in the carrier. Either that or the piston was starting to seize up.

Be interesting to see how they perform.

Had it happen on two of my cars now, even rebuilt the calipers on my saxo, then replaced them completely, two sets of juddering discs later and the only thing left I hadn't changed was the pads :(
Been fine on the 9 till recently and now it has judder just like the saxo. Doesn't seem to just be me, know an s2000 and another saxo that have had the exact same problem after a while. Just think they're totally overrated. Probably fine for tootling about roads though

No doubt a good road/track pad but it seems they can be outgrown on track.
Like I said before they come standard on some exotics so can't be that good on track to compromise rich people's road driving experience....
I've never ran them(neither have any friends) so can't really comment on them that much tbf.
Everyone does seem to rate them though which is odd.

I've had red stuff and yellow stuff break up with track use. But never any issues with ferodo 2500, even on the dc5 4pots. The ds3000 are the ones to have for heavy track use.
